Right now the hobby of stained glass is very expensive. When I first started a roll of solder was 5.99 now it runs around 15.99-17.99. Copper foil is out of sight as well. Your supplies to get started are kind of expensive because you want a high quality soldering iron that will hold a steady temp as you work, also expensive.

I now have 9 full windows that I have made work for and clipped it into the very edge of the window.

You want to buy stained glass to begin with the determine if you want to get into the art further. It can be very expensive to get started and even continue right now.

Put stained glass in google and start clicking on links. If you like I can email you a picture of how the window I have done turned out.

No matter what You did very well for paying 25 cents for your egg!
From the reasearch that I have done it looks they go from $ 65.00/ $ 70.00 and UP, UP,UP.

Beginning in the mid-1980s, Fenton began to create annual groupings of special colors, such as Pink Opalescent and Topaz Opalescent. Once called "Collector’s Extravaganza," these offerings evolved into the limited edition "Historic Collections" which continue today. Each Historic Collection color has admirers, but some are especially noteworthy: More on next site ;http://aarf.com/fentons05.htm

Many of their newer creations made since 1973 are already very collectible. These pieces are marked with an oval shaped raised logo Fenton molded directly into the glass. More next site;

These are Fenton logos used from 1970 through 1998.

If you live in or near a large city, their libraries carry many books that specialize in certain items,i.e. glass eggs and often show photos. It would be my first place to check it out.

The fake stained glass with the plastic goop "lead" lines and the thin plastic film is available at craft stores. It should not be used where the sun will shine on it as it fades and may peel, especially if the glass is not very clean when applied (soapy water, rinse, dry, rubbing alcohol) If your kids are teens, you should consider working with real stained glass and copper foil with a soldering iron. You can build not only windows, but hanging sun catchers and 3D shapes including boxes, bowls and lamps. If you have a shop that sells stained glass in your area, you can take classes and enjoy looking at sheets of glass and picking colors to use. Some continuing, community, and adult education classes offer stained glass training also.

Sculpture in glass is relatively recent. But Galle did small scale commercial sculptures successfully. Lino Tagliapietra is one of the acknowledged modern masters. Much modern glass sculpture has been cast glass in abstract. Look at the collection of Corning Museum of Glass (www.cmog.org)
 Art glass including Chihuly's has been based on vessels rather than solid sculpture.

glass paint.
There is quite a variety. There are some for kids which you can peel off the window and there are good quality glass paints, some of which you have to fix with heat (though a normal oven is sufficient).
